Giulia McPherson

Giulia McPherson is the Deputy Director for Citizen Advocacy at CARE USA, a leading international humanitarian and development organization.

Based in San Francisco, Giulia leads CARE’s efforts to build and mobilize constituencies on behalf of U.S. policies that support the fight against global poverty. Prior to assuming her current role, Giulia was Advocacy Alliances Manager for CARE, coordinating CARE’s advocacy work in California and building national partnerships to further CARE’s mission. She spent three years in Washington, D.C. as CARE’s Legislative Communications Coordinator and has extensive experience in research, analysis and communications related to legislative issues pertinent to CARE’s work overseas.

Before joining CARE in 2003, Giulia worked in Italy and Peru for the Italian NGO CESVI and the Nonprofit Sector & Philanthropy Program at The Aspen Institute in Washington, D.C. She has a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Villanova University and a Masters in International Development Studies from The George Washington University.
