Adam Handler, CARE

Adam Handler is the Deputy Director for Field Operations within CARE’s Policy and Advocacy Unit.  As such, he has oversight over the CARE Action Network, a project to engage CARE supporters across the country in educating and lobbying their elected officials on behalf of policies that help CARE do its work.  Before taking on this role, Adam served for three years as the Northeast Field Coordinator, where he launched and built the CARE Action Network from Pittsburgh, PA to Bar Harbor, ME.

Adam joined CARE after an assignment in Azerbaijan, where he was the technical advisor on a USAID-funded project to upgrade civil society organizations. Specifically, Adam provided training to local NGOs on advocacy and coalition building.  Adam is a veteran of congressional campaigns and of Capitol Hill, and has worked as a lobbyist on behalf of the Middle East peace process.

Adam holds Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a B.A. in Government from Wesleyan University.
