In recent years, there has been dramatic growth in the number of international organizations that recognize women's empowerment as central to ending poverty, fighting global disease, universalizing education, and realizing other development targets. The "Empowering Women in Global Development" summit will examine how organizations today are empowering women through a wide range of tools and programs from microfinance to family planning to fair trade businesses to access to child care. Over the course of the daylong summit, young leaders will hear stories from leaders at the forefront of the global movement for women's opportunity and talk with socially conscious peers about the future of the field.
Confirmed speakers at the summit include:
- Bama Athreya, Executive Director, International Labor Rights Fund
- Marceline White, President, AID, and former Deputy Director, GATE, USAID Office of Women and Development

The summit is free of charge for young leaders selected to participate, including registration and meals. Travel to the conference and lodging is at the participant’s expense, but we will do our best to set up car pools for participants.
