Campaign Idol

Students will work together in small groups to create an issue campaign to be entered into Global Scholar’s Campaign Idol competition. The campaign will feature an international issue chosen by the members of the group, and lay out a plan of action to address it.

Campaigns will be judged in two rounds. During the first round of competition, teams will present their campaigns to Americans for Informed Democracy staff members on campus at Washington and Lee. Three top finalists will be chosen to go on to the second round of judging, held during our Capital Days in Washington, DC. These three campaigns will be evaluated by a

panel of advocacy professionals, who will give their feedback on the campaigns and choose one as the winner.

Winning campaigns are feasible, sustainable, and creative, and tie global issues to local communities.

Campaigns should follow the SMART guideline:

Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Realistic
Tangible

and should reflect the issues that students are passionate about seeing changed!
