Interfaith Youth Core - There are millions of religious young people in the world interacting with greater frequency. That interaction tends either toward conflict or cooperation. Where so many of these interactions tend towards conflict, the Interfaith Youth Core aims to introduce a new relationship, one that is about mutual respect and religious pluralism. Instead of focusing a dialogue on political or theological differences, we build relationships on the values that we share, such as hospitality and caring for the Earth, and how we can live out those values together to contribute to the betterment of our community. www.ifyc.org Crossing the Faith Line: IFYC's 5th National Conference on Interfaith Youth Work Don't miss an exciting opportunity to meet renowned religious scholars and interfaith activists! Join us for a three day conference bringing together individuals and organizations from around the world who are building religious pluralism. Our Voices Together - Our Voices Together a non-partisan, non-profit group formed by 9/11 families and friends, invites community, civic, and student groups to co-host “Safer, More Compassionate World Forums” that explore truly comprehensive approaches to counterterrorism and national security—those that use the power of citizens to build international understanding and trust. www.ourvoicestogether.org Safer, More Compassionate World Forum Fall 2007/Winter 2008 Nationwide Series Addressing Terrorism From the Ground Up Seeks Campus Forum Hosts. The Challenge: The reality of the fight against terrorism is that our security depends on engagement, not disenfranchisement, with communities overseas. Military force, intelligence, and security measures alone will not defeat terrorism. What more is needed? The Response: This nationwide forum series is designed to stimulate a more informed public discussion on how citizens can help mitigate the threat of terrorism through actions that contribute to what the 9/11 Commission called the Agenda of Opportunity: education, employment and the possibility for a brighter tomorrow. The series will launch August 30, 2007 at the National Press Club in Washington DC with international journalists, and will continue throughout the fall and into 2008. Every citizen has the capability to make a difference in the world. With interaction and engagement, we can end the popular support for terrorism. Join the movement by organizing a forum on your campus! This toolkit (attach their toolkit) will help you in your planning.
