Erik Blachford is the CEO of TerraPass, a company that helps consumers offset their carbon footprint. TerraPass was created in October 2004 and has already sold more than 50,000 carbon offsets. The company has been rightly praised as a “brilliant attempt to use capitalism to fight global warming” (Der Spiegel). Blachford brings years of business experience to TerraPass. He was formerly President and CEO of Expedia, Inc. He serves as a board director at TerraPass, Sharebuilder, Zillow, Farecast, and Surfparks. He holds a bachelor's degree in English and certificate in theater from Princeton University and an MBA from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business.
- The Innovator in Sustainable Living award will be presented by presented by Stephanie Cochinos, a Board Member of Americans for Informed Democracy. Stephanie is a Manager with Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting, LLC in New York. Ms. Cochinos primarily concentrates on strategic repositioning, including market sizing, segmentation and entry; customer segmentation; business line and product portfolio re-positioning; acquisition and joint venture strategy development; strategic plan development; customer relationship management; brand building; process re-engineering and new product development. Ms. Cochinos has also served as a strategic planner for Amerada Hess Corporation and an investment banker at Merrill Lynch. Ms. Cochinos holds a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and received her MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business.
