U.S.-Islamic relations
Americans for Informed Democracy, a nonpartisan Washington-based group, will hold a town hall meeting at the University of Texas tonight on relations between the United States and the Islamic world.
The meeting, free and open to the public, will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Chicano Culture Room in the Texas Union, 2247 Guadalupe St.
The discussion, which will commemorate the third anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks and the recently released Sept. 11 commission report, will feature several speakers, including Sarwat Hussain, chairwoman of the Council on American Islamic Relations in San Antonio; Clement Henry, UT government professor; and Mercedes de Uriarte, UT journalism professor.
Americans for Informed Democracy has held meetings on campuses across the country.
