Global Scholar Request for Financial Assistance

globalscholar

We recognize that these are challenging times, and that the cost of a program like Global Scholar or the Global Scholar Institute may make it difficult, if not impossible, for talented students of limited financial means to participate.

DollarIcon Because we believe the benefits of our program will last a lifetime, we work hard to keep program costs low and to develop financial assistance so that all qualified students can participate without regard to financial capacity. Although we’re constantly pushing to develop more scholarships, our assistance might provide the opportunity to defray some, but not all, of the program costs. All of our assistance is needs-based for otherwise academically qualified applicants.

If your participation in Global Scholar or Global Scholar Institute is contingent on receipt of assistance, we encourage you to contact us to discuss the likelihood of obtaining assistance prior to submitting your application.

Complete our online form to request financial assistance for a current or pending application for Global Scholar Prep or the Global Scholar Institute. Please provide information for your household as defined by the IRS. If you are a student being claimed as a dependent on your parents' tax forms, you should provide the income information included on those forms. For the Global Scholar Prep sessions, this form should be completed by the parent or guardian of the prospective student. For the Global Scholar Institute sessions, this form can be completed by the prospective student themselves if they are over 18. Required fields are marked with a *.
  • Prospective Student Information

  • Parent or Guardian Information (if applicable)

  • So that we can make our program available to as many students as possible, we ask that you request assistance to defray that portion of our program fees that is otherwise beyond you or your family's financial means.
Enter the number of income earners among the heads of the household; that is, don't include dependent earners.
  • This is the amount reported on the tax return of the parent(s) or guardian(s) of the student applicant, or your own for tax year 2010. Use either: the amount reported on line 37 of Form 1040 or the amount reported on line 21 of Form 1040A or the amount reported on line 4 of Form 1040EZ. If you request and are awarded financial assistance, you agree to supply us upon our request with the page of your tax return supporting the income reported here. Failure to supply us with documentation to support your request for financial assistance will result in a revocation of that assistance.
  • This is the amount you expect to report on your 2011 tax return. We understand this is an estimate. We request this information to assess whether your request is based on anticipated changes to income. Describe any material change in the Special Circumstances text box below.
  • Briefly describe any special circumstances to help us better understand your request for financial assistance. Special circumstances might include anticipated change in income due to job loss, unexpected medical bills, or other unusual expenses that make your family's household income insufficient to cover the fees for our program.
