Why set up a chapter? | Chapter Resources | Existing Chapters
We’re excited you want to start a chapter on campus! Setting up a chapter of Americans for Informed Democracy on your campus is easy when you use our Chapter Setup Guide.
AID offers an unparalleled number of resources for college students who are interested in bringing the world home to their campuses. When you set up or join an AID chapter, you become a part of a national youth movement of tens of thousands of young people that are working together to promote a U.S. role in the world that is appropriate for our increasingly interdependent world.
How to Get Started:
1. Download the Chapter Setup Guide now! - The guide gives you practical tips on setting up leadership, recruiting members, registering your campus and organizing events.
2. Contact us! Call us at (202) 544-9662 and ask for Sarah or Karen, our chapter setup specialists! They are excited to talk with you about the process of setting up a chapter and they can give the tips you’ll need to make it a quick and easy process. They can also send you a list of all the students currently on our listserv from your university. These students are often excited to work with others on their campus to help set up a chapter. You can also e-mail sarah@aidemocracy.org or karen@aidemocracy.org with the words “Chapter Setup” in the subject line to propose a specific time to speak.
AID will also provide you with a mini-grant ($25-50) as soon as you register as a chapter-in-progress for your Steering Committee Meeting and First Organizational Meeting which are described in the chapter setup guide so that you can serve food at the meetings.
