AIDemocracy is looking for applications from inspired, globally conscious students to join our Food Security Campaign Teams for the 2011-12 academic year. The Issue Analyst provides thoughtful analysis and commentary on relevant national and foreign policy issues. Other team members will include the team Coordinator, Communications Gurus and Organizers.
The Food Security Campaign Team Issue Analyst leads conversations around relevant national and foreign policy issues related to chosen issue. Primary responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and engaging in key conversations and debates around food security, hunger and agriculture.
- Bringing the conversation to students by producing interesting and engaging commentary and analysis.
- Working with the Communications Guru and other Analysts to disseminate analysis in new and print media, including our blog, Facebook, the website, print media and more.
Skills and qualifications:
- Excellent communications and writing skills.
- Excellent new media skills.
- Experience working with students / campaigns seeking social change.
- Great sense of youth culture, and conversations / trends that resonate with youth.
- Ability to work both independently and in teams.

This is a part time volunteer position based anywhere. Analyst will work between 8-10 hours/month, potentially more in the early months. Term is summer 2011-May 2012. The Analyst will work on a student team, and have access to ongoing training opportunities and support from AIDemocracy staff.
