Ten Years Later: What does 9/11 mean to you? Guest bloggers needed!

9/11 was a pivotal moment for our generation. It framed how we view the world, and our place within it. AIDemocracy was founded by students in response to the events of that day, to provide space for young people to explore the US role in the world. Ten years later, that conversation remains as important as ever.

As we approach the tenth anniversary of 9/11 next month, we’re asking students to help us tell the story of our generation’s reaction to 9/11. What did the moment mean to you, your family and/or your community? How have the events of the past decade changed your view of the world? Did it affect your choice of studies or career? What do you think we need to do moving forward, as individuals and as a country? What role should youth play in all of this?

We’re looking for student contributors to write one blog post—250 to 500 words—discussing their personal reactions to 9/11. Posts will be featured on the AIDemocracy and Be2021 websites throughout the 2011-12 academic year.

Stories can be personal, analytical or anything in between. Submissions can also be video, photo or audio recordings. Contributors should be high school, college or graduate students, or recent grads / young professionals.
